Pizza Time | Director:  Evyn J Barron | Narrative |9:24 (PG-13)

A bag is lifted from a victim's face and realizes where he is... the office of one of the world's most feared mafia bosses. The boss slowly approaches him but suddenly, the interrogation gets interrupted by a pizza girl arriving with three deep-dish-supreme-stuffed-crust pizzas.... that he didn't order. A new problem arises: he can't find the correct amount of change anywhere to tip her.

He asks his goons, shakes down the victim, and checks his drawers. Meanwhile, the pizza girl is ready to get out of there because its revealed that the pizza is actually a bomb. She was there to kill him all along! Now it's a race against the clock to get out of there.

With seconds on the clock, the two fight over the boxes. As the bomb is revealed, the pizza girl accepts her death realizing that she accomplished her goal of getting revenge.

My name is Evyn J. Barron. I’ve been an aspiring filmmaker since high school, creating short films with my friends for fun. Coming to Kennesaw as a Mechatronics major, I never expected to get this into film. I even changed my major to Media & Entertainment because I love film so much (and yet there still isn’t a film major somehow *cough* KSU make a film major *cough*)

I’m also president of KSU’s film club “For Film’s Sake” which is KSU’s first film production club created in 2020. The film “Pizza Time!” is a film I directed in collaboration with the talented people at the club. It was a script I wrote for our chamber film project where we were challenged to create an entire short in a single room. The film was shot at my work over the course of two days and the film was completely self funded by my crew. They showed me that literally anything is possible with a handful of passionate people and I’m so thankful for everyone involved in bringing this to life. Thank you for your consideration.

Two Paths: The Psychology of a Freelancer vs a Full-Time Employee | Director:  Marco Castaneda | Documentary | 5:06 (G)

What do I do next? Do I go Freelance? Or Do I look for a full-time job? These are the questions most students in the creative field constantly ask themselves, especially when graduation is around the corner. Here we delve deep into the psychology of a freelancer and full-time employee, to better understand what is the optimal mindset to have in order to succeed in this competitive field.

I am a junior at Kennesaw State University majoring in Media and Entertainment, as well as minoring in Music and Entertainment Business. I've had a love for making and watching films ever since I was in 3rd grade. As I grew older, I found new passions such as basketball and music, that completely forever changed who I was as a person. For that reason, whenever I create any sort of content, I was always seek to find a way to incorporate all of these things that make me so passionate and happy. I currently work at Prosponsive Logistics (a Third-Party Logistics company), as a marketing content coordinator, where I am in charge of consistently creating content for all their social media accounts. I hope that in the future I am able to expand my horizons in what type of content I create and join industries such as the film and sports industries.

Desk Defender | Director: Sebastian Soler | Narrative | 10:00 (PG-13)

A lone action figure attempts to defend itself from ten enemies atop a cluttered office desk.

Sebastian Soler is an actor, writer, and animator from Snellville, GA. After graduating from Brookwood High School, he attended Georgia State for one year before transferring to Kennesaw State University. Sebastian taught himself stop-motion animation and digital music composition from an early age and has applied these skills to his art for over a decade. He has competed in local, statewide, national, and international film competitions.

Sebastian began his career in film working as a background extra. He has worked for several companies including Sony/Netflix, Disney/Marvel, Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, Apple TV, and CBS Television/The CW Network. Currently, he has been employed on eleven different productions, (eight feature films, six television shows, and one television special). In addition to film, Sebastian enjoys writing screenplays, playing tennis, and solving Rubik’s cubes. His objective after college is to work as crew or editing staff for productions filming in the Atlanta area, or Trilith Studios.

Ladies Man | Director: Robert & Anthony Papasidero | Narrative | 6:50 (PG-13)

Mark and Annie, a college couple wanting to get into the ultimate party that will send their street rep through the roof. Unfortunately the righteous protector of frat parties Oculus Aquilae is guarding the front door. Will Mark and Annie get in? Only time will tell.

I'm a person who loves movies. I directed this movie along side my twin brother Anthony. This is the first film we've ever been a part of and it was a real honor to be directing it. We both hope it is a film everyone can enjoy.

Don't Give Alcohol a Voice | Director: Emily McGinnis, Quin Glass, Jean Boereau | PSA | 00:30 (G)

The PSA will start off with a man having a serious argument with a personified beer bottle. The beer bottle expresses his frustrations about how he isn’t getting the attention or affection from the man that he used to. The man is trying to get his words across, but he keeps getting interrupted by the beer bottle. The bottle suspects that something about the man has changed. The man reveals a bottle of water and takes a sip in front of the beer bottle, implying that he’s leaving alcohol for water. The beer bottle passes out from shock and spills itself across the table. The man throws the bottle in the trash. Then the title “Alcohol Doesn’t Have a Voice, so don’t give it one” will appear at the end.

Jean, Quinn, and Emily are all senior's and are majoring in Communication Media and Entertainment at Kennesaw State. They have enjoyed being able to expand their creative skills by learning to create content for clients and in the PSA format. These new skills resulted in their creation of this piece for the Health and Wellness department at KSU.

Girl finds herself stuck in a parallel universe after getting into a fight with her boyfriend

I am a Sophomore at KSU. I am a Public relations major and I love film! I am a part of KSU For Films Sake club and this is my first time writing and directing a short film. This is my second year involved in the club. I hope to possibly work in the film industry when I graduate as either a public relations specialist or a writer for film. I have worked on 5 films for For Films Sake. I am also a part of the KSU Media and Entertainment club as well. I have written and hosted podcasts, as well as acted in several of the clubs films as well. I hope that through my work, I can inspire others to get involved in the film industry and tap into their creative side.

Jesus is Hope | Director: Emily, Jean, Nick, Quin | Documentary | 6:05 (G)

This film is an effort to reveal thoughts about what people think happens after death and ultimately an answer we can put our hope in as human beings. We got the perspectives of multiple people on this question and concluded with many different answers. After hearing these replies we then tell the story of Jesus through personal perspectives and how he offers us hope for our present and future lives.

We are all Senior Media and Entertainment students at kennesaw. This is our final capstone project. We all randomly got put into a group together not knowing that we all shared a passion for knowing and telling others about the hope Jesus offers the world. We all hope that our video gives perspective and helps people ponder this idea.

A Grim Misunderstanding | Director: Sawyer Rodriguez | 4:08 (PG)

Johnathan Dauterive has unfortunately passed away... But death isn't as glamorous as it seems.

Sawyer Rodriguez is a junior at KSU, studying Media and Entertainment. Throughout my life, there has always been one consistent thing that I have done, and that is to tell stories. Storytelling is my passion. I love learning and discovering what people have to say about their own lives. If you think about it, we tell stories to people in our lives every single day. Some small, some big, some basic, some dramatic. But we tell them. I love telling stories through film. I have also worked for Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures.

Sound the Alarm? | Director: Parker Bennett | Documentary| 5:22 (G)

This documentary provides insight into the general knowledge on the economic climate from a professional as well as a non-professional perspective. The documentary questions the younger generation about their understanding of the economy, and how they can learn more in the future.

My name is Parker Bennett, I am a senior at Kennesaw State University. I am a media & entertainment major. My college experience is varied, having changed majors multiple times both here and at another college. I have a passion for creativity, although I am still a novice in actual content creation, broadly speaking. I hope to learn all I can in my time at the university and move into a field of work that caters to my creative output.

Operation: Spam | Director:  Evyn Barron | Narrative | 7:07 (PG-13)

A girl lost in a post-apocalyptic world full of zombies takes refuge in a small cabin. On the brink of starvation she finds a lone can of SPAM. But when a zombie traps the can in a bedroom, it's up to her to muster the courage to save it - even if she thinks its disgusting.

Steve Irwin His Life and Legacy | Director: Jake Hirschler | Documentary | 9:00 (G)

This film is a brief history of Steve Irwin, his family, and how they all have impacted the world. Scenes featuring people are acted out with puppets.

Jake Hirschler is a Media and Entertainment major and self-proclaimed nerd at KSU who plans to get into the film industry in Atlanta. This well-rounded creative enjoys making films, playing piano, making pixel art, and writing stories. He is known for his attention to detail, dedication to excellence, kindness, and humor. Pursuing a career in film led him to become a Media and Entertainment major, where he has been honing his creative skills. On the side, he has been specifically practicing his editing and production skills using his YouTube channel centered around video games. His goal is to one day monetize this channel. His recently discovered talent for striking emotional chords can be seen and felt in his films. Perhaps this talent is a result of his love for recording things, which he is known to have been doing since he was little. He believes that presentation is key, and does his best to package his work with a strong theme.

$8.00 | Director: Steven Yang | Narrative |5:30 (PG-13)

A couple goes to a haunted house only to find a real dead body. As it turns out, it wasn't quite worth the cost of admission.

Steven Yang is a pretty cool guy who likes cameras and other things. Steven is an award-winning director who has won multiple film festivals in high school, which sounds a lot more impressive than it really is. When Steven was 6 years old, he got his grubby little fingers on the family camera, and has been in love with all things cinema ever since. Unfortunately, Steven also has a knack for breaking every camera he touches. He currently shoots on a Sony a6400, which he bought from his friend Evyn, but is secretly eyeing Evyn's camera, a Blackmagic Pocket 6K Pro. When Steven isn't looking at cameras he can't afford, he's probably looking at other things he can't afford, or having a crisis. Steven is also lactose intolerant and isn't particularly great at writing in the third person. Fun fact: Steven has taken 4 Introduction to Film classes at 4 different schools, and has learned nothing from any of them.
